Screening view only, not an engineering study or an insurance flood determination. Terrain is a bare-earth lidar model (USGS 3DEP, 1 m): it does not see storm drains, culverts, curbs, walls or fences, so real water may drain away faster or be held back differently. Houses are treated as solid blocks (about 3 m). Rain is applied as one burst with 80 percent runoff and no soak-in; depths are therefore pessimistic and show where water goes and gathers, not how long it stays. Rain amounts for my model are NOAA Atlas 14 for this location. The official model is the Flood Control District of Maricopa County FLO-2D study (Upper East Fork Cave Creek), which includes storm drains and ground soak-in; it covers only four storms, and in the 1000-year and extreme slots my model is the only choice. Where the two disagree, trust the official one. Buildings: OpenStreetMap. Official zone: FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer. Drag to rotate, wheel to zoom, right-drag to pan.
